Timber Frames: All timber products left outdoors wears a lot quicker than if left undercover, our frames are lacquered but will be need to be up kept when signs of wear appear to save a big job if left unattended.
Powder coated steel frames: The steel frames are also able to withstand the outdoors, if the powder coating gets scratched then the steel underneath may start to rust so same deal with the upkeep.
Hi there, why the Cypress Roman Arc hammock frame is for hammocks with spreader bars only?
To hang a Mexican Hammock without spreader bars usually needs to be hanged in a "U" shape but in this case due to the height and length of the Cypress frame the hammock will hang flat and tight losing the U shape so a hammock without spreader bars will feel stiff and tight.
MATERIAL
I leave my hammock outdoors, what material do you recommend?
Regular cotton hammocks last for years but it is necessary to unhook the hammock when is not in use or hang it in undercover areas so the rain and sun does not damage the material.
How is the softness of Nylon compared with cotton?
Nylon Hammocks are firmer feeling, with less flex than cotton hammocks. However, the nylon string is silky feeling and incredibly comfortable. The colours are vivid and unlikely to fade. Nylon Mexican Hammocks offer increased durability, which may be better for travel or regular outdoor use. Nylon is available with our King and Jumbo sizes.
Are Nylon hammocks sweaty?
No they are not, people in Mexico sleep all night in Nylon Mexican Hammocks or in Cotton Mexican Hammocks, doesn't matter. This is because their diamond-like threading allow the circulation of air.
What is the difference between a spread bar hammock and a hammock without a bar?
A spread bar hammock is known as Resort style hammock. A hammock without a bar is a typical Mexican hammock. This is our specialty. It was designed in Mexico and they are considered the most comfortable hammocks in the world by customers. Chiropractors and Orthopaedists recommend them for people with back problems.
Hi,
I would like to purchase a hammock that is suitable to use in place of a bed, indoors. I really love the rainbow colour, what sizes are available in that colour? What is the largest size that a frame can support?
To sleep indoors and replace your bed, the best option is the Crochet Hammock, details located in the below link:
This is the hammock we use in Merida Yucatan Mexico to sleep overnight and if yo use to sleep not to play and hang outside, the hammock could last around 5 - 10 years
In Mexico they are sold in King Plus and Jumbo, we have available the King Plus. We have them in plain white, earthy colours, Mexicana (Similar to the rainbow). We also have one with navy blue and white and another one with minty green with white.
The Rainbow hammock you like is Nylon. Nylon hammocks are designed to sleep siesta, read a book, rest a bit but not really to sleep overnight, Because they are not as fresh and comfy
If $299 is more than what you are willing to spend, then a Jumbo in Cotton would be the next choice $139
This hammocks include a pair of hooks or pair of ropes the gift of your choice
Regarding the largest size that a frame can support. All depends in the frame. Do you already have a frame? Do you know what frame do you have? If the frame is adjustable then all our hammocks should fit the frame
HANGING DISTANCES
What is the length of the smaller hammocks in Cotton, Nylon and thicker cotton?
Because all hammocks are different and are made by different artesian doesn't exist a fixed length per size of hammock, but if you go to all our hammock descriptions you will find the average length for each size and material.
What is the recommended distance to hang a hammock?
We recommend that the centre of the hammock when pressed down is between 30 to 45 cms from the ground. High enough for your feet to touch the ground when you sit on the side of the hammock with your legs overhanging the side.
EXPORTING OVERSEAS
Do you export?
We do export, to almost any country, please ask for details.
No they are not, but when you wash them please DO NOT use bleach, only use washing soap or a softener
Which hammocks are best for sleeping in?
We recommend our Crochet Hammocks, specially designed to sleep all night in them.
However, all our hammocks are good for sleeping in. Other options are King Size in Cotton or our Jumbo Family Size. All our Mexican Hammocks demonstrates the highest level of weight distribution possible--weightlessness or "zero gravity". Every Mexican Hammock eliminates any pressure points on your body. They actually contour to your body's natural shape.
How long will my Hammock last?
There are a variety of factors that can impact the life of a hammock, which makes it quite difficult to determine how long a hammock should last. Environmental factors including UV damage, sea salt, rain, and overall climate can have severe effects on a hammock. These are also factors to consider when selecting what kind of hammock to purchase, however given proper care, any hammock can provide enjoyment for many years. Following simple steps such as proper cleaning, appropriate use, and suitable storage when the hammock is not in use can prolong your hammocks life. The best suggestion we can offer is to follow the instructions sent with your Mexican Hammock
Is there a place I can see these stands and hammocks before I buy one.( I have bought a stand before which was very unstable.
Please contact our retailers or visit our office if you would like to see the hammocks and stands before you purchase them. We use the Adjustable Hammock Frame for to hang our hammock and we think that is very stable.
